Abstract

The very inflationary economic conditions that have made home ownership attractive in recent years have caused mortgage lenders to reexamine their policies and offer alternatives to conventional fixed-rate mortgages. The author examines these efforts to restructure the mortgage market, including the variable-rate mortgage.
