Abstract
The article, in the first part, consists of a series of reflections on the luck of Gabriele D’Annunzio in Poland in the last years of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The second part contains a series of observations on some aspects of the Polish translation of the novel Triumph of Death, or those of Aleksandra Callier (1898), Leopold Staff (1907) and Stanisław Kasprzysiak (1976).
