Abstract

Comparison of reflectivity spectra of different Bi substituted yttrium iron garnet samples was accomplished with the aim to illustrate the changes in spectra caused by different amount of bismuth. The optical response of the samples was studied by means of Kramers-Kronig analysis based on the data from the synchrotron measurement of UV reflectivity and ellipsometric measurement in visible region. Composition of the samples was established from Rutherford backscattering experiment. The results were compared with the earlier conclusions concerning Bi1.1Gd1.9Fe5O12 garnet.
