Abstract

The cooperative system numbers among the most multidimensional, repeatedly reevaluated phenomena, and the discussion of its role in the development of the national economy and in socialist construction continues even today. The article ofered here for the reader's consideration presents a worldview, philosophical, and sociological approach to this phenomenon. The cooperative system is presented not so much in its concrete manifestations over time as in its role as an expression of the contradictions of social development and a stimulator of socioeconomic processes. The author is known for his polemical works on current problems of socialist construction (his books include Socialism: The Life of Society and Man and Certain Philosophical Aspects of the Theory of Socialism [both in Russian] and others).
