Abstract
Nash, Bradley, and Chickering’s book How to Talk about Hot Topics on Campus: From Polarization to Moral Conversation (Jossey-Bass, 2008) calls educators to the possibilities for more constructive dialogue in student life settings, in classrooms, and at their intersections. Responding to the book’s support for whole campus environments that can systemically support moral conversations, the article ends with a reflection on Antioch College’s legacy of open community dialogue. Guidelines for discussion in Antioch’s weekly Community Meeting emerged from collaboration between an academic class and the community governance leadership.
