Abstract

Union elections happen every day across the nation. None in recent history have been as high profile as the March 2021 union election at an Amazon warehouse in Bessemer, Alabama. The Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) recently pursued a high‐stakes petition at Amazon to represent thousands of warehouse workers. The election made its way into the mainstream media and attracted interest from as high as the White House. Few could have predicted the significantly lopsided result in favor of the company.
