Abstract
A month ago I changed jobs. I moved, after a spell of 14 years in midwifery education, into the clinical management post of Director of Midwifery and Gynaecology Nursing Services at King's Health Care Trust, London. I gave 3 months notice in my old job and, inevitably, during this time, got involved in discussions about ‘why I was doing it’.
