Abstract
In design practice, we commonly believe that true knowledge is immersive and experiential. In this study, authors attempt to present their search for guiding principles from ancient Indian doctrines and different school of thoughts. The ancient philosophical doctrines state that betterment of a learner leads to realizing ‘The Ultimate Truth.’ The possibilities and preparedness for the inclusion and necessary transformation of these guiding principles in the present context of design education are being further discussed.
