Abstract

The reflection spectra of the RbPbCl3, RbPb2Cl5 and KPb2Cl5 crystals in the fundamental absorption region (E=2–12eV) at T=300K and the thermal evolution of the luminescence spectra in the temperature range 4.2–300K were investigated. The structure of exciton reflection in RbPb2Cl5 and KPb2Cl5 crystals corresponds to four non-equivalent positions of Pb2+-ions in the unit cell. Radiative relaxation of intrinsic excitations in the crystal under study is considered to occur through the emission of self-trapped excitons (STE).
