Abstract

This autoethnographic narrative seeks to engage the reader through a personal account of a traumatic event that happened in the Cabrini Green neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, in 1980. Twenty-six years later, the author reflects on how strength is revealed during trauma and the role it plays in positive adversarial growth.
