Abstract

The SDP (Scattering Density Profile) technique has long been used to model lamellar lipid systems. Recently, we have extended this technique to the inverted hexagonal phase in lipids. Since our first attempts, we have refined and extended our model. Improvements include simplification of the model for the headgroup region, a variable width modeling of the terminal methyl Gaussian distribution, a much closer match between the model and the Luzzati interface and a closer tie in with experimental lipid density data.
