Abstract

The experimental results of many years studies of strain path effects on the mode of plastic flow and evolution of the material structure are recollected to show the practical means of its control and refinement. They led to an original approach to metal forming operation (the KOBO method) and allowed one to achieve nanostructures in a commercially-usable product. The basic idea of this solution and examples of generated structures are shown.
