Abstract

1. The basic principles of constructing a model of a permeable rock foundation of dams, taking into account the characteristics of its engineering-geological structure and space-time character of the effect of the reservoir on it, were formulated. 2. Consideration of the entire set of effects on the foundation from the reservoir will make it possible to design an effectively working subsurface contour of dams ensuring reliable operation of the structure. 3. The use of the refined model of a permeable rock foundation when analyzing the results of onsite observations will promote a more complete revelation of the essence of processes in the foundation and will facilitate an explanation of many characteristics of its behavior under the effect of the applied loads and actions.
