Abstract

The traditional induction machine models which only consider the copper loss and ignore the iron loss are the most widely used models in the field of the induction machine drive system simulation, however, in the applications such as the induction machine efficiency optimization and the electric vehicle speed control, the influence of the iron loss cannot be ignored. At this time, the traditional induction machine simulation models are no longer suitable for these applications, and the more realistic simulation results will be given by the simulation model considering the iron loss. In order to provide the solution for these circumstances, we developed the ordinary differential equations of induction machines considering iron loss, furthermore, the methods of establishing the corresponding customized simulation models are descripted in the PSIM and in the Matlab/Simulink simulation environment, respectively. A high speed data flow system is established for the induction machine drive system, in order to verify that the proposed refined simulation models are correct, the real-time data of the induction machine is sampled into the PC, and compared with the numerical results of the proposed refined simulation models. The comparison results show that the refined ordinary differential equations of induction machines considering iron loss proposed and its simulation models are believable, and the behavior of induction machines can be analogized by them well.
