Abstract

The express method for evaluating the porous structure of ceramic materials has been refined by replacing a smooth change in gas pressure with a stepwise one with pressure holding at each stage. After determining the average radius, the maximum pressure drop is determined until only one chain of gas bubbles remains. The average coordination number for the solid phase and the coefficient of capillary tortuosity were calculated. The experimental and calculated mean radii are in good agreement with the data, while the tortuosity coefficients differ.
