Abstract

At most nonprofits, extensive efforts are made to cultivate and develop major donors who have the financial capacity to give large amounts of money to the organization. But another type of supporter—though without the financial wherewithal—can be just as valuable, if not more so, as the typical major gift donor: the referral donor.
