Abstract

To reduce the redundant information of the sensor array and alleviate the mutual coupling effect between adjacent antennas, a novel sparse array is proposed in this paper. We first analyze the range of consecutive lags in the difference coarray generated from the thinned coprime array (TCA), and derived its analytical expression of the hole positions. By investigating the influence of the 0-position sensor on the consecutive and unique lags, the new location of the 0-position sensor is sequentially determined. In particular, the closed-form expressions related to the consecutive lags and unique lags of the proposed array are derived and compared with the existing sparse arrays. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.
