Abstract

Information about the sociology of religion is scattered among a wide range of books, journal articles, and other publications. This article provides a guide to reference books in the sociology of religion which should make it easier for sociologists and scholars in religious studies to locate information about the sociology of religion. Reference books are arranged in three main categories: General reference works, discussions of events and trends, and special topics. Almost all of the references are to English language works. No attempt has been made to include reference works which are published in other languages or which deal with the sociology of religion in Europe, Asia, Latin America, or Africa.
