Abstract

To make more efficient use of librarians' time at a small academic library while maintaining an effective reference assistance program, librarians at Willamette University's Mark O. Hat-field Library began using paraprofessionals to provide reference assistance. This article covers the reasons for the trial program, as well as its structure and outcomes.
