Abstract
The critical behaviour for the spin-1 Ising model with biquadratic interaction is investigated in two and three dimensions using the Monte Carlo method. The phase diagram for the three-dimensional system exhibits a reentrant behaviour for large positive values of the biquadratic exchange coupling. The temperature dependence of magnetization and susceptibility in the reentrant region is also presented.
