Abstract

1. To increase the rate and reduce the time of works on placing materials in the Rogun dam it is necessary to provide intense methods of placing the earth materials in layers ≥1 m thick with operating speeds of rolling up to 4 km/h and reduction of the number of passes with overlapping of footprints by using effective vibrating machines. 2. It is necessary to be oriented mainly towards the use of effective medium (5–10 tons) and heavy (10–15 tons) mobile vibrating rollers, the approximate parameters of which are given in Table 2. The parameters and technological operating conditions of the rollers should be refined from the results of experimental rolling. 3. It is time to start developing the optimal technology of placing soils at the experimental test area of the Rogun hydrostation with the use of means for prompt checking of the density.
