Abstract
This study is aimed at reducing the defective parts during production in plastic injection moulding industries. The study was taken up in a plastic processing industry, in which due to increased defects, PPM (Parts per million) rate of the company was affected. The study turned into a defect reduction analysis due to not fully acceptable lead times. Limitations were set to one specific part for case study and a time frame from January to March 2018. The methodology behind this report and study was Design of Experiment developed by Sir Ronald Fisher. The analysis made in this report was of the quantitative kind with interviews and observations of current setting chart of that part. The findings from this report showed that an optimized setting chart is beneficial to limit errors due to faulty setups and information transfers. The conclusion of this report resulted in a standardized manual/routine for the specific part under consideration, improved productivity, and reduced ppm level.
