Reduction of p -cyclic covers of the projective line

Abstract

Let R be a complete mixed characteristic p discrete valuation ring with field of fractions K. In this paper we consider the reduction of p-cyclic covers of the projective K line. Making certain assumptions on the branch locus we obtain a criterion for good reduction as well as an explicit description of the semi-stable reduction of such a cover.
