Abstract
Previous kinetic studies on the reduction of liquid iron oxide or iron oxide contained in liquid slag were reviewed, being focussed on experimental procedures.Reduction of liquid wustite with carbon dissolved in liquid iron proceeds faster than with carbon monoxide or solid carbon.Previous works have given much valuable information to understand the complicated reactions, and to show still some problems remained to be solved.
