Abstract

Power spectral density and coherence functions are always disturbed by leakage, caused by contributions of sinusoids to different frequencies. A method is proposed which estimates power spectral density and coherence functions with less leakage, while a better use is made of the information present in the signals. The frequency resolution can be improved by applying an aliasing technique for which the validity of the sampling theorem has to be extended.
