Abstract

Homocysteine with a very low intrinsic content could induce the negligent diagnosis of diseases such as hyperhomocysteinemia when weak levels fluctuate. Cysteine was one of its metabolites involved in the evolution of hyperhomocysteine disease, and its content was positively correlated with Homocysteine. So, simultaneous cysteine and homocysteine quantification in human serum might provide more accurate indicators for the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. In this work, we combined acetyl-coumarin with ethyl glyoxylate to construct the second-generation pH regulated ultrasensitive fluorescent probe CEE, which based on reduction of intramolecular rotation induced high luminescence efficiency was reported to quantify homocysteine and cysteine in serum, conventional and moderately hydrolyzed milk powder simultaneously, which would provide scientific and accurate guidance for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of thiol-related cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
