Abstract

In the case of reduction by carbon monoxide of a stabilized, and then oxidized aluminum-chromium-potassium catalyst, Cr2+ ions are formed primarily from chromium ions, present in the oxidized catalyst in a valence state higher than 3, and to a substantially lesser degree from ions present in the form of Cr3+.
