Abstract

In this article, conservation voltage reduction (CVR) are integrated with the network reconfiguration (NR) and VAr control scheme to obtain a deeper reduction in the apparent power demand of the system. The proposed algorithm assists the conservation voltage reduction (CVR) operation to be performed with deeper voltage reduction. To evaluate power consumption four scenarios such as without any control, CVR with NR, CVR with VAr control and CVR with NR and VAr control have been performed on the IEEE-33 node test system. The proposed algorithm is solved using the Grey Wolf optimization technique. The outcome of the simulated results shows that a higher reduction in power demand consumption and power losses can be achieved through CVR in cooperation with VAr control and NR operation as compared with the remaining scenarios.
