Abstract

In a research project aimed at eliminating or controlling the leaching of tetrachloroethylene from vinyl‐lined asbestos–cement (A–C) pipe, cleaning and cement‐lining of A–C pipes were studied. Tetrachloroethylene concentrations were reduced by removing the vinyl liner and applying a cement‐mortar liner and by applying cement mortar directly over the vinyl liner.
