Abstract

In industries that produce products that require the protection or decoration of their surface by means of different technologies that can guarantee the desired quality level, it is intended to meet the requirements of resistance to environmental actions and possible mechanical / physicochemical attacks so that the final appearance of the products can meet the requirements demanded by the customer. Such a technology is electrostatic painting, a superior technology for paint, powder or liquid application to metallic surfaces that are subsequently heat treated, thus ensuring long wear and abrasion resistance. It is used in almost all industries, starting with architecture, aeronautics, machinery and equipment, household, sports or electronics, etc. Due to the superior net adhesion of the paint to the treated metal surface as well as due to the much better uniformity of the paint layer. This is only possible if the surface of the products is properly treated before the painting itself to guarantee a good or very good quality of the painting of the surfaces in question. Any dedicated company working in the field of electrostatic painting is looking for resources and tools that can provide the required quality level, and for this, it is necessary to implement the quality management system based on the Qualicoat international standard dedicated to electrostatic painting.This paper, part of a wider research project, aims to provide a new solution beside of those commonly used in the field of electrostatic field painting to reduce production costs.
