Abstract

This study assessed the stress perceived by athletes and performance dancers in the pre-competitive period in adolescents and young adults. In order to build adequate functional mechanisms for managing stress in young athletes and dancers, a mental preparation, a good psychological preparation, is necessary. The obtained results demonstrate that the level of stress perceived in the pre-competitive period of adolescent athletes can be reduced and the level of self-esteem can be improved, applying an Intervention Program through psychological relaxation techniques.
