Abstract

AIMS To reduce the length of stay (LOS) of patients admitted with bronchiolitis to a community pediatric inpatient program by 12 hours by March 2017. Additional aim was to decrease the use of medications (albuterol, steroids, antibiotics) and diagnostic tests (Chest radiographs and Viral testing) by 30 percent by the same time. METHODS The QI effort was undertaken by a multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses at our two inpatient sites using the IHI model for improvement.
