Abstract

A revised infection prevention and control commissioning toolkit has been launched by the RCN and the Infection Prevention Society. The toolkit provides information to support commissioners in developing infection prevention and control strategies that can be delivered by local health economies to reduce infection, and manage the risks associated with antimicrobial resistance. It also includes a series of optional indicators to support performance management and assurance against provider contracts, and an example of a healthcare-associated infection reduction plan that commissioners can adapt for local use.
