Abstract
The technique developed by Sonin for using the collisionless probe theory of Laframboise to obtain charged particle number density is here refined and extended to measurements of plasma potential. All necessary curves are given and the technique is applied to the reduction of experimental data taken in a glow discharge in argon in order to illustrate the method.
