Abstract

Screening mammography has led to increased detection of early-stage breast cancer and has contributed to decreased breast cancer mortality [1]. However, these benefits of early detection are diminished when patients do not have timely diagnosis and treatment [2]. To facilitate timely treatment of screen-detected breast cancers, it is important to minimize delays to diagnostic imaging after an abnormal screening mammographic result.
