Abstract

Method call latency is a major problem in approaches based on object-oriented middleware such as CORBA, DCOM, and RMI, especially for fine-grained server interfaces. A mechanism that groups method calls and caches results can reduce method call latency. The middleware runtime system does this transparently without affecting client code or server implementation.
