Abstract
In this paper, OEWIM (Open-End Winding Induction Motor) drive based 36 level inverter topology is introduced. The proposed topology is realized by two-hybrid 6 level inverter fed at both sides of OEWIM. The hybrid six-level inverter is realized by using the two-level inverter in cascade connection with H-Bridge in each phase. The combination of two six-level modules will result in thirty six-level output at each phase of OEWIM. Only 36 switches are required in the proposed topology, whereas conventional topologies require a large number of switches to realize 36 level output. There is no requirement of clamping diodes as compare to NPC. Thirty six-level FC inverter topology requires 1785 capacitors but this topology does not require any capacitor. Eight isolated DC sources are used as input to the hybrid inverters. Performance evaluation of the proposed inverter is done with the help of MATLAB simulation.
