Abstract

The transient behavior of a detailed model of the induction motor during the initial part of a full voltage start-up is analyzed by separating forced and transient components of flux linkage, torque and current response. Based on this analysis, a single-order electrical model is developed to duplicate the start-up transients of detailed fourth and sixth-order electrical single and double-cage conventional models. The start-up model reduction uses the separation of fast and slow variables as well as the separation of forced and transient response. The reduced model is validated by comparison with the detailed model and other reduced order models. >
