Abstract

Reduced graphene oxide/titanium dioxide (RGO@TiO2) hybrid nanoparticle was synthesized and used as a filler to study the synergistic effects on electrospun regenerated silk fibroin (RSF) mats. The incorporation of the hybrid filler increased the average diameter of RSF fibers, but decreased the content of β-sheet conformation. The breaking strength of RSF/RGO@TiO2 composite mat increased by 220%. Moreover, the composite mat supported the growth and expansion of cells and had a good antibacterial property. This study may provide a new development perspective of multifunctional nanocomposite based on RGO@TiO2 hybrid filler.
