Abstract

The reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and poly(L-methionine) film on screen printed carbon electrodes (SPCE) was proposed for tartrazine determination. The rGO was synthesized based on glucose reduction and modified on SPCE by drop casting. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) was applied to electropolymerize poly(L-methionine) film on SPCE. The electrochemical behaviour of tartrazine on rGO-methionine modified SPCE and the effects of pH were characterized by CV. The modified electrode exhibited a linear response to tartrazine at concentrations from 10 to 200 μM with a detection limit of 0.287 μM. Due to the facile preparation, disposability, and low cost, this modified sensor can be a good alternative for tartrazine determination.
