Abstract

For terahertz frequency domain spectrometers (THz-FDS), the effects of Fabry-Perot (FP) interference and system dispersion are inevitable, thus the typical data-analysis methods normally result in large errors in the measurement of the THz transmission spectrum and refractive index of samples. By using the phase relationship between two groups of acquired THz-FDS data with different optical paths, we present a new method to eliminate the system dispersion and reduce the impact of FP interference on the refractive index measurement with a relative error decreased from 6.8% to 2.5%.
