Many kinds of artificial blood that have the ability to transport oxygen into tissues have been proposed. Hemoglobin vesicles, in particular, have advantages over other ones because of their longer half-lives and lower viscosity in circulation.10,11,12 Neo Red Cells (NRC) is the liposome-encapsulated human hemoglobin, and the P50O2 of NRC is changeable in the range of 13–60 Torr in accord with the variation in the addition of inositolhexaphosphate (IHP) as an allosteric effector.8
