Abstract

NADPH-dependent thioredoxin reductase C (NTRC) redox and Calvin Cycle Protein 12 (CP12) have a role during cold acclimation. A recent study by The et al. describes the underlying molecular mechanism, leading to the dissociation of the auto inhibitory PRK/CP12/GAPDH (phosphoribulokinase/CP12/glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase) supracomplex. We propose a chloroplast-to-nucleus retrograde-signaling preceding the described mechanism.
