Abstract

Abstract Redistribution occurs between di-n-butyltin chloride hydride and di-n- butyltin oxide at room temperature in both a 2-1 and 1-1 hydride-oxide ratio to form di-n-butyltin dihydride and bis(di-n-butylchlorotin) oxide. Exchange did not occur at room temperature between either di-n-butyltin dihydride or di-n-butyltin chloride hydride and bis(di-n-butylchlorotin) oxide. Of the sequence of paths which might involve hydride-oxide exchange, hydride-chloride, or chloride-oxide exchange, the most likely path appears to involve successive hydride-oxide exchanges on tin.
