Abstract

Neponymphes godoii Zamboni, 2001 is redescribed and illustrated based on specimens from the Lower Cretaceous of Northeastern Brazil (Araripe Basin, Crato Formation; upper Aptian, ~114 Ma). The redescription, based both on the adult and nymphal stages, shows that the external morphological characters of N. godoii were fairly similar to those of recent members of the Belostomatini. Hence, the external morphology in this tribe has apparently not changed much since the Cretaceous.
