Abstract
Background.. The VLL threshold to chelate without a CaNa2EDTA challenge test (CT) is based on a study of children with erythrocyte protoporphyrin (EP) levels ≥35 μg/dL. Such children are more likely to have a positive CT. Thus, this may have decreased the CDC-defined chelation threshold.
