Abstract

This article is based on the Social Network Analysis (SNA) approach, focusing on the connections identified in the relationships maintained by actors (producers and local development entral) of a cooperation network of small biscuit producers, located in the Identity Territory of Southwestern Portugal. Bahia, involved in the legal recognition process of the geographical indication, in the period 2018 to 2021. The investigation aimed to describe the relationships and social ties of the actors in the cookie cooperation network and to assess the influence of these aspects on the recognition process legal form of the geographical indication (GI). Data were collected through interviews by agenda formulated from a sociometric generator (HIGGINS; RIBEIRO, 2018). Data analysis was carried out entr the techniques of content analysis and social network analysis (ARS), supported by Atlas.ti® and Ucinet® software. As a result, there is a low level of entrali (density) and a limited number of connections in the exchange of entrality and communications (entrality) between the actors of the network that is formed, providing barriers to the deepening of social relations (mobilizations and interactions), as well as the perception of value attributed to interorganizational relationships within the scope of GI.
