Abstract

The present state of recycling waste hardened cement mortar and paste from concrete to produce cement was introduced. Three ways have been researched, using recycled mortar or paste as a raw material for common Portland cement clinker, using recycled hardened cement paste as a raw material for cement clinker synthesised at lower temperature and using recycled mortar as a raw material for preparing alkali-activated cement. The advantages and disadvantages of the three ways were discussed, and topics for prospect research were suggested.
