Abstract
The VNIPI-chermetenergoochistka Institute evaluated a method for reclaiming used lubricants by optimizing separation efficiency in terms of reducing mechanical impurities and developed specifications for the separator operating cycle. The unit separates inhomogeneous liquid systems into two liquid phases of different densities and simultaneously remove the heavier mechanical impurities by centrifugal force. Improved separation efficiency reduced mechanical impurities by 37-47%, and residual impurities were within the 0.7-1.2% range.
