Abstract

A soluble immobilized NAD + was prepared by creating a peptide binding between bovine serum albumin and N 6-[(6-aminohexyl)]carbamoyl-methyl] nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. When immobilized within semipermeable microcapsules with alcohol dehydrodgenase (EC 1.1.1.1) and malic dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.37) the albumin-NAD + exhibited high cofactor recycling rates. NAD + can also be similarly crosslinked to hemoglobin.
